Luxury Chalets in the heart of the Cederberg Mountains

The resort is renowned for its well-kept luxury chalets and exclusive hospitality. Each photographer will have a private room with an en-suite bathroom and we encourage you to invite an accompanying person.

Surrounded by majestic orange rock formations, the resort is considered a popular base for hiking, mountaineering and exploring. Here you can immerse yourself in the peace and tranquility of the Cederberg mountain range, hike through untouched natural landscapes and take a swim in one of the crystal-clear mountain streams or rock pools.

The luxury chalets are thoughtfully designed and eco-friendly, and secluded. Each located in its own unique setting. The two-bedroom chalets offer en suite bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and cosy fire places.

Their restaurant is equipped with a fine kitchen which uses only the freshest ingredients to provide their guests with top-notch farm style cuisine and light meals. The restaurant also offers several vegan and vegetarian options.

Our resort is home to the first microbrewery in the Cederberg Mountains established by two sisters, Melanie and Tania. They make use of the best ingredients and excellent quality water to offer you the finest craft beer.

The resort has no shortage of excellent swimming spots where you can cool down and there is a hike to a waterfall.

The resort has been welcoming mountaineers, specifically the Mountain Club of South Africa who loved making the resort their Cederberg base. The resort provides easy access to an extensive range of hiking trails.

It is even possible nearby to immerse yourself in daily farm life. There is a restored water mill and usually some lambs and goats.

One hour horseback excursions are possible along a guided trail ride following the Kromrivier Valley.

DAY 2

Sunrise shoot in the mountains  (parking right at the shoot location – and no strenuous walking)

The creative possibilities for art nude photography at this location are endless and we will return several times to this rugged location. Some of the main features of the location are cavernous dome-like rock formations shaped by wind erosion. Tall rock towers and even sandstone formations that mimic crashed spaceships are abundant.

We will return to our lodge for breakfast and relax and participate in the activities offered by the lodge. There are opportunities to swim and even hike to one of the nearby waterfalls.

After lunch and on our way to our afternoon shoot location we will visit some of the best preserved and most famous San rock art in the Cederberg Mountains. Notable scenes include a herd of elephants and San warriors. These ancient artworks, which can be 8,000 years old, provide a window into the beliefs and lives of the San, with some scenes depicting spiritual journeys and connection to the supernatural world.

After the morning shoot we can spend some time at the pools, swim and relax before returning to the lodge for a late morning breakfast. When the temperatures reach 30 celcius in summer, these pools are a real blessing.

Day 11

space  holder

South Africa is a destination that offers an extensive variety of breathtaking holidays and experiences with its First World infrastructure, its world-famous game reserves, superb beaches, dramatic mountains, sophisticated cities and wide open spaces.

The fact that there is almost no time difference between South Africa and Europe means that you don’t have to deal with any jet-lag. So you can enjoy your holiday and return refreshed to your home country.

In Cape Town the hot summer months between November and March serves as the  perfect escape from winter in Europe.

The Cederberg with its warm weather, blue skies also offers lots of rock pools and lakes where you can take a refreshing swim in the wild.

South Africa is easy to reach as there are affordable and direct overnight connections between all the major European cities and South Africa. From North America there are some nonstop flights into OR Tambo International with frequent connections to Cape Town. There are also direct flights from some US cities to Cape Town.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning, South Africa promises unforgettable adventures.

This is an exclusive experience to one of the great untouched wilderness areas near Cape Town – working with some of the most sought after artistic nude models in Cape Town we are able to offer this adventure at a price that will be impossible to match in the future.  Photographers are invited to include their partners a nominal extra fee.

This adventure includes an optional (at an extra cost) 3night/4day fly-in safari to the Addo Elephant National Park known for some of the biggest herds of elephants in South Africa and also the presence of the Big 5 (rhinoceros, buffaloes, lions, leopards and elephants)  sanctuary.

You will have the opportunity to create artistic nude compositions in one of the most dramatic and rugged landscapes in Africa.

The fact that there is almost no time difference between South Africa and Europe means that you don’t have to deal with any jet-lag. So you don’t need time to acclimatize and can enjoy your holiday from the moment you arrive and return refreshed to your home country.

We do recommend that our guests consider spending some extra days in Cape Town before or after our event. Cape Town is spectacular city with pristine white sandy beaches, nature , vineyards and excellent restaurants. The local currency also makes everything a lot more affordable than what you are used to in Europe or the USA.

If you decide to spend extra time in the city we can help with recommendations or to help our guests arrange additional shoots with local models in Cape Town, for example with cheetahs and zebras, or on some wild secluded beaches.

No special knowledge or skill level is required; other than knowing about the basic camera settings such as ISO, aperture, shutter speed, etc. You should be able to shoot independently most of the time but I will be there to help and provide advice when you need it. It is important that you will be able to operate without constant assistance.

I can recommend  lenses of 50mm, 85mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, or similar. Best if your lens will have a focal length between 50mm and less than 100mm. As we’ll be shooting in natural light, it’s beneficial to have a prime lens with a large maximum aperture or a zoom lens with a 2.8 aperture.

Absolutely! We respect your dietary choices, so please inform us of any specific requirements when you book your adventure. We will have most of our meals at the restaurant at the resort and they offer a selection of vegan and vegetarian options.

Apart from the planned photoshoots described in the itinerary (4,5-5hrs per day) it would be possible to arrange additional shooting time with the model at her discretion and at an additional cost. This should be directly arranged between the photographer and the model.

We  have a selection of promotional discounts. A full description of our promotional discounts can be found in the footer of our website.

In Africa, the Big Five game animals include lions, leopards, rhinoceros, elephants and buffaloes. The term was coined by big-game hunters to refer to the five most difficult animals in Africa to hunt on foot, but is now more widely used by game viewing tourists and safari tour operators. They are among the most famous and iconic of Africa’s large animals.

Feel welcome to contact us with any other questions you may have

Getting here

If you are traveling from Europe, you are in luck; Cape Town is linked with direct flights from many European capitals and there are several flights a day arriving in Cape Town.

If you don’t mind a stop-over then booking a flight to Johannesburg and then a connecting domestic flight to Cape Town is often a little less expensive.

Once you have found your flight then often booking directly with the airline will allow you to take advantage of their preferential cancellation policy and better upgrade potential.
